[Who we are]
ENGINORD is an independent nuclear energy advisory team based in Helsinki, Finland. We are senior industry leaders doing what matters most: safeguarding Owner interests in complex, high-stakes nuclear programs.
ENGINORD provides independent advice and engineering support aligned with the Client’s strategic interests. We challenge assumptions, assess risks and support informed technical and commercial decisions.
Senior leadership engages from the outset to agree priorities, define responsibilities and oversee delivery. Our established core team takes responsibility for agreed deliverables, coordinates technical inputs and keeps the Client informed of progress and emerging risks.
When additional expertise is required, we draw on our trusted international network of up to 100 specialists. Teams are assembled according to the agreed scope and the level of specialisation required.
ENGINORD was founded in Helsinki in 2026 by nuclear professionals who had worked together for years on the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear new build project and other major international programmes.
Our team combines experience from owners’ organisations, regulatory authorities, plant suppliers, contractors and international engineering companies. This gives us a practical understanding of the responsibilities and challenges facing different participants in a nuclear programme.
Collectively, our experience spans strategy, economics and technology selection through licensing, engineering, plant contracting, construction, commissioning and operational readiness.
[Our History and Mission]
Founded in Helsinki in 2026, ENGINORD brings together nuclear professionals who worked side by side on Hanhikivi 1 and other major international programmes. Our team combines Owner, EPC, designer, regulator and supplier perspectives across the project lifecycle.
Unlike traditional consultancies, we deploy an established core team that engages quickly and takes responsibility for results, supported by a trusted international nuclear network built through decades of cooperation.
ENGINORD operates independently of reactor suppliers and EPC contractors, remaining fully aligned with the Owner’s interests.

Why we do this
We spent decades inside traditional nuclear utilities and major EPC consortia watching the same costly patterns recur: scope blind spots, recurring licensing bottlenecks, and contracts where Owners inadvertently lose oversight. ENGINORD was established to give plant owners the independent engineering muscle required to maintain total program control.
How we think
Every program assessment begins with core fundamentals: Where are the hidden contractual liabilities? Are safety cases truly resilient to regulatory scrutiny? How do reactor technologies compare on an objective, like-for-like basis? We focus on actionable decisions rather than passive reporting.
Our philosophy
80% of a nuclear program's lifetime cost and risk profile is fixed before first concrete. We believe in robust decisions taken early. Our mission is not to foster long-term dependency on consultants, but to reinforce the Owner’s internal capability and licensing competence.
Our process
We combine multi-angle oversight with focused execution. From rapid baseline gap analysis to on-site Owner’s Engineer surveillance, our leadership works in structured sprints alongside your team — ensuring complete transparency without black boxes or unexpected budget overruns.
